It managed to unify Norwegians, Norwegian-Americans, friends of Norway and all Norwegian-American organizations in the area for a grand celebration of Norway’s Constitution day. This is a unified effort involving all persons who have special interest in Norway including Norwegian - American organizations in the region; six lodges of Sons of Norway, Norwegian Fish Club, Norseman’s Federation, House of Norway in Balboa Park, Norwegian Genealogy Society and Norwegian Mannskor of San Diego. The response to the initiative has been overwhelming and enthusiastic. . Oswald I. Gilbertson Honorary Chairman & Norwegian Consul Emeritus Norway and the United States have enjoyed a long standing and friendly relationship in part due to the similarity of their constitutions. As this is an occasion to celebrate with Norway it was also an occasion to celebrate freedom and liberty enjoyed by citizens of both countries.
